Chile's Corfo has awarded funding to two consortia for the promotion of the green hydrogen industry. The PTEC programs aim to support technological development within the H2V sector, with a focus on local manufacturing capabilities and the use of hydrogen in Chilean industries. One project involves the local production of cargo and passenger vehicles operating with green hydrogen in Santiago, while another focuses on refining and blending e-Fuels in the Biobío region. The HydroTech Industries and SYNFUELS BIOBIO projects, led by different companies, are set to revolutionize the industry by developing innovative solutions and creating a green hydrogen hub in Valparaíso. These initiatives, with total investments exceeding $10 billion, highlight Chile's commitment to becoming a key player in the green hydrogen sector. Government officials view these projects as essential for revitalizing the Chilean economy and positioning the country as a leader in sustainable development and technological innovation.
