Detroit has been awarded a $30.8 million grant to introduce a fleet of new zero-emission buses in the city, with a hybrid design incorporating both electric and hydrogen fuel technologies. This initiative, part of the Biden Administration's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law grant program, is set to revolutionize public transportation in Detroit. The Mayor of Detroit, Mike Duggan, expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting the arrival of 45 new buses in the upcoming year, followed by an additional 25 buses the following year.
