EKA Mobility, in partnership with KPIT Technologies and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has launched a 9-meter hydrogen fuel cell bus at Cochin International Airport in Kochi as part of a three-year Proof of Concept project. This collaboration aims to facilitate Kerala's transition towards sustainable mobility by introducing hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles. The bus, showcased at the Global Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit in Kochi, integrates KPIT Technologies' hydrogen fuel cell technology, while BPCL has set up the hydrogen infrastructure in Kochi. The project focuses on advancing the adoption of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles in India, driving investment in green hydrogen infrastructure, and supporting policy development for future deployments. EKA Mobility, backed by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and VDL Groep, specializes in electric and hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, emphasizing energy-efficient solutions and zero-emission vehicle adoption. The company also works on establishing infrastructure for sustainable mobility solutions, collaborating with partners to deploy charging stations and hydrogen refueling facilities in India.
