HYVIA and HYPE Partnership for Decarbonized Hydrogen Mobility Acceleration
Key Ideas
  • HYVIA and HYPE aim to accelerate the use of decarbonized hydrogen mobility to mitigate climate change and public health challenges.
  • The partnership includes the supply of decarbonized hydrogen, H2 refueling stations, and hydrogen vans to boost the growth of hydrogen ecosystems.
  • Complementary solutions of HYVIA and HYPE contribute to the success of the partnership, enabling rapid deployment of hydrogen mobility projects.
  • Both CEOs emphasize the importance of the collaboration in advancing hydrogen mobility solutions and addressing the climate emergency.
HYVIA, a joint-venture between Renault Group and Plug focused on hydrogen mobility, has partnered with HYPE, a leading player in zero-emission mobility and hydrogen taxis, to accelerate decarbonized hydrogen mobility. The partnership aims to develop relevant uses of hydrogen mobility while increasing volumes to reduce costs, focusing on the entire H2 ecosystem including the supply of decarbonized hydrogen, refueling stations, and hydrogen vehicles. HYVIA's electrolyzer in Flins will supply HYPE's refueling stations in the Paris region. HYPE will deploy two H2 refueling stations by 2024 and use high-capacity Renault Master H2-TECH vans. The partnership leverages the strengths of both companies to drive the deployment of hydrogen ecosystems. The CEOs highlight the importance of the collaboration in advancing hydrogen mobility solutions for a successful energy transition.
