IndianOil has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation solutions by handing over a state-of-the-art green hydrogen fuel cell bus to the Indian Navy. This endeavor was marked by the signing of an MoU between IndianOil and the Indian Navy, aiming to pioneer the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell technology for heavy-duty e-mobility. The event, held in New Delhi, saw the exchange of the MoU at the Nau Sena Bhawan in the presence of high-ranking officials. The Chief of Naval Staff emphasized the importance of eco-friendly transportation and expressed gratitude for the partnership. IndianOil's Chairman also lauded the initiative, showcasing a commitment to innovation and green technology. With 15 fuel cell buses already operational in key regions, IndianOil has demonstrated the practicality of green hydrogen technology. The project's goal is to evaluate fuel cell electric buses' performance in challenging climatic conditions and analyze their reliability for public transit. This collaboration positions the Indian Navy as a pioneer in assessing hydrogen technology alongside IndianOil. The project will also focus on assessing the impact of local fuel and air quality on fuel cell systems.
