LIFTE H2, a part of px Group, has successfully delivered a cutting-edge hydrogen project at Open Grid Europe's site in Berlin, Germany. The project involved the integration and delivery of a hydrogen refuelling station with advanced features like a dual compressor system, buffer storage tank, and two large storage tanks for long-term hydrogen storage. The station is capable of delivering hydrogen at 70 MPa (700 bar) to ensure safe and efficient refuelling for hydrogen-powered vehicles.
The hydrogen is produced onsite using a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser powered by renewable energy from nearby wind farms. This production process guarantees zero carbon emissions and aligns with the commitment to sustainable energy systems. LIFTE H2's successful completion of this project highlights their technical excellence and commitment to low-carbon solutions.
The project not only advances hydrogen infrastructure but also contributes to OGE's experience with hydrogen as an energy carrier. The project's key stakeholders emphasize the importance of efficiency, scalability, and customization to meet unique requirements while optimizing available funding. This milestone underlines px Group's ambition to be a driving force in hydrogen infrastructure and a trusted partner in key strategic regions, as they extend their presence in clean energy across Europe. Overall, this project marks a significant step forward in the energy transition journey and highlights the growing importance of hydrogen in the global economy.
