The Lion’s Coach BEV is designed to support fast charging at 375 kW via a CCS plug and comes in varying lengths with capacities from 53 to 61 passengers. While MAN is exploring hydrogen-powered options, the primary focus remains on BEV technology due to its higher energy efficiency. MAN stresses the need for a well-established charging infrastructure for electric coaches to thrive. The company plans to introduce an electric high-floor intercity bus by 2026 or 2027, signaling a shift towards full electrification in urban and intercity transportation. MAN will maintain a production area for combustion engine buses in Ankara but will continue main production in Poland. The company aims to substantially increase production capacity in both locations to meet the growing demand for electric buses.
