NTPC, a government-owned power giant in India, recently made a significant breakthrough in carbon management by successfully converting captured CO2 into methanol at its Vindhyachal plant. This achievement, a global first, was highlighted as a major milestone by NTPC Chairman Gurdeep Singh during the company's 50th Raising Day celebration. Singh also emphasized NTPC's focus on other sustainable fuel production initiatives such as Gen-4 ethanol, green urea, and sustainable aviation fuel. The company has been actively developing innovative technologies like hydrogen production, carbon capture, and methanol synthesis. As part of its commitment to green technologies, NTPC virtually launched hydrogen-fuel buses in Leh, marking a notable advancement in clean transportation. Additionally, a new 50-year logo was unveiled, symbolizing NTPC's legacy and dedication to growth. The event also included the recognition of employees' children's achievements and the launch of new IT applications. Gurdeep Singh paid tribute to NTPC's founders for laying the foundation of the institution and reiterated the company's vision to create a sustainable future with renewable energy sources and continuous innovation.
