NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has taken a significant step towards advancing green energy technologies by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in New Delhi, India. This collaboration aims to drive green hydrogen mobility projects at Kandla Port, supporting India's decarbonization and clean energy transition objectives. NGEL will establish a cutting-edge green hydrogen fueling station and introduce 11 hydrogen-powered buses for short-haul operations, replacing traditional fossil fuel-based transportation to enhance energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. NTPC's innovative projects in green hydrogen, including a successful blending project in Surat and mobility initiatives in various cities, demonstrate the company's commitment to sustainability. The partnership with DPA is part of NTPC's broader strategy to develop a green hydrogen hub in Visakhapatnam and achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, incorporating advanced energy storage solutions. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal lauded the collaboration as crucial for India's green energy ambitions, highlighting NTPC's leadership in the renewable energy sector and dedication to sustainability.
