Rebus Regionalbus Rostock GmbH has welcomed the delivery of 52 hydrogen fuel cell buses, positioning itself with one of the largest H2 fleets in Germany. These buses, consisting of 47 solo and 5 articulated units, were awarded to Solaris in 2023. Currently, approximately 30 buses are operational, having already traveled more than 150,000 km. The operator notes that the vehicles' downtime is limited, primarily attributed to minor software issues. Rebus aims to smoothly operate the refueling stations and fully integrate all 52 buses into regular service, with no additional vehicle acquisitions planned until 2026. The refueling process takes place at the depot filling station in Güstrow, with plans for another station in Bad Doberan. The design and procurement of these hydrogen refueling stations were facilitated by EMCEL. Thomas Nienkerk, rebus' managing director, praises the buses' performance, highlighting their reliability even in challenging weather conditions. The switch to hydrogen-powered vehicles aligns with Rebus' commitment to sustainable mobility, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in such transitions.
