Solaris has secured a notable order for 15 hydrogen buses from the German carrier Oberbergische Verkehrgesellschaft (OVAG) to improve public transport in Gummersbach, Germany. The delivery of the hydrogen-powered Urbino 12 buses is scheduled for 2025. These vehicles will be equipped with modern fuel cells boasting a total power of 70 kW, supported by Solaris High Power traction batteries to meet peak electricity demands. Additionally, a 160 kW central electric motor will drive the buses, with heating provided by a heat pump. The order signifies a positive trend in urban mobility towards sustainability and emission neutrality. Olivier Michard of Solaris expressed satisfaction that more cities are investing in environmentally friendly public transport, highlighting the brand's commitment to facilitating this global shift.
