During the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (SCEP) Ministerial in Washington DC, US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri commended the advancements made through their collaboration. The collaboration extends to a public-private energy storage task force that will address policy issues and explore the feasibility of different storage technologies. Furthermore, the partnership aims to boost sustainable aviation fuel and enhance energy efficiency by working on super-efficient appliances and cooling systems. The modernization of the power distribution sector was also a key point of discussion to ensure continuous and reliable power supply to consumers. The US lauded India's progress in smart metering projects and highlighted joint efforts in enhancing power market reforms and cybersecurity measures.
