Indian Railways, known for its vast network and millions of daily passengers, is stepping into the future by introducing India's first hydrogen train. This green transport mode operates without the need for petrol or diesel, ensuring zero pollution. The train will run between Jind and Sonipat in the Delhi division, covering a distance of 89 km. Manufactured in Chennai by the Rail Coach Factory (ICF), these hydrogen trains boast a power capacity of 1500 horsepower, setting them apart from similar trains around the world. While countries like England, China, Germany, France, and Sweden have already adopted hydrogen trains, India's entry into this list marks a significant milestone. With plans to build 35 hydrogen trains at a total cost of Rs 2,800 crore, the Indian Railways is showcasing its dedication to sustainable and innovative transport solutions. This leap into green technology not only enhances the transportation sector but also contributes to a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.
