Construction engineering company Ashoka Buildcon has announced an investment of Rs 9,000 crore to establish a green hydrogen plant in Bihar. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government for this project. The plant will utilize a 1,250 MW solar project to power the production of green hydrogen by splitting water, with the initial phase set to take place in Begusarai. Green hydrogen is renowned for being an exceptionally clean energy source that only generates water when burned. COO of Ashoka Buildcon, Mayank Sharma, mentioned that the first phase of the project is estimated to be completed within 1.5-2 years from obtaining all necessary clearances. The company's current order book stands at Rs 11,697 crore, with a significant portion allocated to roads, railway projects, and power transmission and distribution. In the past, Ashoka Buildcon has successfully completed various projects, including a 150 MW solar power plant for NTPC in Rajasthan.
