Gensol Engineering Limited and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd. have been awarded the project to establish India's first Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune. This initiative will primarily focus on the production of green hydrogen to cater to the specialty chemical sector. Operating on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis with a firm offtake agreement for 20 years, the project aligns with India's goals of achieving net-zero emissions. Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, expressed pride in developing this pioneering project, highlighting the Government of India's support in promoting such Hydrogen Valleys through the Department of Science & Technology (DST). Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas & Renewables, reaffirmed their commitment to help India reach its net-zero targets by actively participating in the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune is a collaborative effort involving National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) and is located in the Kurkumbh region. The project will utilize the electrolysis route for green hydrogen production, with plans to expand into green steel and green ammonia. Gensol and Matrix emerged as the top bidders for the project, showcasing their expertise in the renewable energy sector.
