The ministry aims to use existing gas infrastructure to produce green hydrogen. The government's goal is to meet the vast energy needs of Nigerians for both households and industries by unlocking the energy sector and natural resources for sustainable development. Additionally, initiatives like the 'Decade of Gas' program and the National Gas Expansion Programme are being implemented to enhance gas infrastructure development and supply across the country. The ministry is also concentrating on digital transformation through the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system and is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline among staff. Furthermore, efforts are being made to prioritize staff welfare, training, and development through partnerships with educational institutions. The ministry is also focusing on incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the oil and gas sector to optimize processes, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact, positioning Nigeria as an innovative leader in the industry.
