The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has unveiled the H24 EVO, their latest hydrogen concept racer, coinciding with the start of official practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This new iteration of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is a significant step in the ACO's MissionH24 program, where hydrogen-powered machinery is set to be part of the French endurance classic starting in 2027. The H24 EVO, based on an ADESS chassis and equipped with impressive power outputs, showcases the potential of hydrogen technology in racing. Featuring a fuel cell generating 300kW and a powerful electric motor driving the rear wheels, the H24 EVO also incorporates hydrogen tanks storing 7.8 kg of hydrogen at high pressure. The addition of experienced racers like Stephane Richelmi and Adrien Tambay to the testing team highlights the seriousness of the ACO's commitment to this innovative project. ACO President Pierre Fillon emphasized the significance of the H24 EVO in demonstrating the competitive capability of hydrogen electric prototypes compared to traditional thermal cars.
