Indonesia's state-owned power company, PT PLN (Persero), has launched the Connext Powered by PLN program to propel sustainable energy innovation in the country. By inviting startups from across Asia, the initiative aims to support PLN in its goal of achieving net-zero emissions while fostering a more innovative and adaptable energy provider. A recent visit to Japan was instrumental in initiating this collaboration, given Japan's ambitious goals in startup development and energy innovation, particularly in areas like hydrogen and fuel cells. During the visit, PLN explored various startup offices specializing in renewable energy, hydrogen, AI, and other technologies crucial for Indonesia's clean energy transition. The partnership with Creww, Japan's open innovation platform, signifies a significant milestone for PLN, opening doors to a vast network of startups and accelerator programs. Darmawan Prasodjo, PLN's President Director, highlighted the strategic importance of this initiative in fostering innovation, job creation, economic growth, and environmental preservation. The success of the Connext program in Indonesia paves the way for its expansion throughout the region, reinforcing PLN's dedication to building a sustainable energy ecosystem.
