Envision Energy, a leading renewable energy developer based in China, has unveiled plans to establish a US$1 billion green hydrogen industrial park in Spain. This initiative is part of the company's strategy to support Spain's transition towards clean energy and aligns with China's aspiration to lead the hydrogen industry. The project will involve a collaboration between Envision Energy, the Spanish government, and local industrial and financial organizations to construct a facility dedicated to producing electrolysers for generating green hydrogen. The development of this industrial park is projected to provide 5 gigawatts of electrolysis capacity upon completion, representing a significant portion of Spain's 11GW target by 2030. Envision Energy anticipates that this investment could lead to the creation of around 1,000 new jobs in the region. Zhang Lei, the founder and chairman of Envision Energy, emphasized Spain's favorable conditions in terms of resources, market size, and expertise, positioning the country as a potential leader in green hydrogen within Europe. He expressed Envision's enthusiasm in contributing to Spain's sustainable energy future through this venture. The partnership between Envision Energy and various stakeholders underscores the collaborative efforts aimed at advancing green hydrogen production and fostering economic growth in Spain.
