GAIL (India) Limited has been recognized with the Green Hydrogen Project of the Year - India award at the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2024 for their pioneering 4.3 TPD Green Hydrogen pilot project located in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh. The project, featuring a 10 MW Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Electrolyser to produce 99.99% pure hydrogen, exemplifies India's progression towards becoming a global leader in green hydrogen technology. In line with the National Green Hydrogen Mission of the Indian government, this initiative by GAIL establishes the country as a significant player in the field. By also investing in solar power plants to meet the green power requirements of the electrolyzer, GAIL is setting a new industry benchmark as it operates the largest PEM electrolyser-based Green Hydrogen plant in the country. This strategic move not only enhances GAIL's revenue streams but also expedites the integration of hydrogen technology across sectors, contributing to the envisioned hydrogen-based economy in India.
