Hydrogéne de France (HDF Energy) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Energy (DoE) and Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to deploy its Renewstable hydrogen plants in the Philippines. The aim is to decarbonize the country's power sector by harnessing renewable energy sources and green hydrogen. These multi-MW hydrogen power plants will use solar or wind energy and water to generate electricity. HDF Energy is partnering with Reurasia to accelerate projects in the Philippines, with plans to establish 15 projects valued at $1.5bn, particularly focusing on Mindanao. The agreement has been hailed as a significant milestone by the Secretary of the DoE, emphasizing the country's commitment to energy sustainability and resilience through hydrogen technologies. The French Embassy in the Philippines has also supported this initiative, enhancing the country's capacity to innovate in the hydrogen sector.
