During the first Senior Officials' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Gyeongju, South Korea, Peru strengthened its collaboration with the OECD. The OECD affirmed its support for implementing the instrument on clean and low-emission hydrogen, a key achievement of APEC Peru 2024. This move by Peru further solidifies its leadership in sustainable energy within the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement reflects Peru's interest in maintaining strategic ties with the OECD as part of its accession process to the organization. Peru's Senior Official to APEC, Ambassador Renato Reyes, along with Minister Victor Muñoz and OECD Representative Deger Saygin, were instrumental in this agreement. The collaboration with the OECD not only supports Peru's accession process but also showcases the country's commitment to sustainable energy. APEC, consisting of 21 leading economies, including Peru, plays a significant role in global trade, accounting for a substantial portion of the world's GDP, trade volume, and population.
