Nordic-based rental company Ramirent has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hitachi Energy and P2X Solutions to collaborate on promoting zero-emission power solutions. The partnership focuses on developing and scaling alternatives to diesel-powered equipment by exploring new business models to facilitate the adoption of hydrogen power in rental fleets. Ramirent, as part of Loxam, intends to include hydrogen-powered generators in its RamiGreen product range, which already offers low and zero-emission rental equipment. This initiative builds on a previous partnership where Ramirent deployed Hitachi Energy’s HyFlex hydrogen generator in Finland, showcasing its potential to offset substantial diesel fuel usage and reduce CO2 emissions significantly. P2X Solutions, known for its first commercial green hydrogen operation, will supply the fuel for the generators. The collaboration aims to drive the hydrogen economy forward and support emission-free construction operations by providing clean hydrogen through rental companies or directly to construction firms. The stakeholders express a strong commitment to accelerating the green energy transition and mitigating climate change through innovative technologies and partnerships.
