SECI's Initiative to Boost Green Ammonia Production in India
Key Ideas
- SECI issues RfS to identify Green Ammonia Producers for production and supply in India under the SIGHT Scheme.
- Selected producers to establish facilities for production, storage, and transportation of green ammonia at their own cost.
- Financial considerations include non-refundable fee, bid processing fee, and Earnest Money Deposit as specified in the RfS document.
- Key dates for participation, including Pre-Bid Meeting and Bid Submission Deadline, to be followed as per the schedule.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has launched a Request for Selection (RfS) to identify producers for the production and supply of green ammonia in India. This initiative falls under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, specifically focusing on Mode-2A-Tranche-I. The main goal is to facilitate the establishment of Green Ammonia Producers (GAP) who will operate production facilities for green ammonia, covering its production, storage, and transportation to SECI's delivery points at the producers' expense. The RfS involves financial obligations such as a non-refundable fee, bid processing fee, and an Earnest Money Deposit. Key dates for the process, including the Pre-Bid Meeting and Bid Submission Deadline, are critical for interested bidders. The selected producers will be responsible for setting up dedicated facilities for green ammonia production, aligning with India's objective of maximizing green ammonia output. The entire operation and associated costs will be managed by the producers as outlined in the RfS and the Green Ammonia Production Agreement.
