Sembcorp Industries, a Singapore-based energy and urban solutions provider, has signed non-binding Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Odisha Government to explore the development of a 720,000 metric tonnes per annum green hydrogen production facility and an industrial park in Odisha. The MOUs were signed by Sembcorp's subsidiaries and government bodies in the presence of dignitaries from Singapore and Odisha. The green hydrogen production facility is expected to generate over 2,000 employment opportunities and will be strategically located in Odisha. These agreements further the collaborative efforts between Singapore and India, focusing on sustainability and supporting India's shift towards a low-carbon future.
