China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) successfully organized a significant event at COP29 with a focus on hydrogen energy. Co-hosted by the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association and the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center, the event marked a milestone as the first hydrogen-themed event by a Chinese company at the conference. Reports on China's progress in hydrogen energy innovation and green hydrogen economy were presented, highlighting the country's commitment to green and low-carbon development. Sinopec's chairman, Ma Yongsheng, emphasized the importance of collective action in transitioning towards a 'hydrogen era' and the need for enhanced international cooperation in the hydrogen industry. Sinopec is actively involved in developing a comprehensive industry chain for hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, with projects like a 20,000-ton photovoltaic green hydrogen demonstration project and plans for a 100,000-ton/year wind and green hydrogen integration project. Additionally, Sinopec operates a significant number of hydrogen refueling stations in China, furthering the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell technology. The company's commitment to carbon neutrality and sustainability is evident in its efforts to advance green hydrogen production and explore emission reduction solutions in various industries.
