Japanese trading house Toyota Tsusho has announced a partnership with Indonesian state-run oil company Pertamina to develop and supply biofuels and green hydrogen. This collaboration is part of Tokyo's efforts to support decarbonization in Southeast Asia. Toyota Tsusho's plan involves supplying these renewable energy sources to the Patimban Port and industrial park projects in West Java, which are currently under construction with the help of Japanese yen-denominated loans. Green hydrogen, chosen for its zero carbon emissions during manufacturing, is expected to play a significant role in the project. This initiative aligns with the global movement towards sustainable energy sources and signifies a step towards a greener future in the region.
