In Muscat, Oman, Hydrom orchestrated a workshop to boost the green hydrogen ecosystem, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors. Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, highlighted the significant progress made in developing Oman's green hydrogen sector, with eight projects signed in April amounting to a $49 billion investment to produce 1.38 million tonnes of green hydrogen. This solidifies Oman's commitment to sustainable development and a green future. Hydrom has allocated land for green hydrogen production to consortiums from Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, showcasing investor confidence in Oman's capabilities. The workshop aimed to address challenges and strategic plans for reaching production targets by 2030 and aligning with Oman Vision 2040. Plans were discussed to make Oman a key player in low-carbon hydrogen export in the region. The Managing Director of Hydrom emphasized the focus on building a strong energy sector, utilizing the full potential of the hydrogen value chain for economic growth. Discussions in the workshop revolved around enhancing local capacities, workforce training, digitalization, and expanding infrastructure to support the green hydrogen industry.
