Woodside Energy and Keppel have taken a significant step in the direction of sustainable energy by signing a conditional offtake term sheet for the supply of liquid hydrogen. This agreement will see Woodside supplying liquid hydrogen to power Keppel's data centres in Singapore. The collaboration is part of Keppel's broader strategy to develop a long-term utility-scale lower carbon power portfolio. The sources of liquid hydrogen will be from Woodside's proposed production facilities, including H2Perth. Both CEOs, Meg O'Neill of Woodside and Wong Wai Meng of Keppel, have expressed positivity towards the partnership, highlighting the importance of transitioning towards lower carbon energy sources. The signing of the term sheet follows a non-binding Heads of Agreement signed in 2023, with the potential for a binding offtake agreement as early as 2030.
