TotalEnergies and Air Products have entered into a significant partnership to supply green hydrogen from Air Products' global network to TotalEnergies' Northern European refineries. The 15-year agreement, set to commence in 2030, will see the delivery of 70,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, aiding in the reduction of approximately 700,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. This initiative is part of TotalEnergies' broader objective to slash net greenhouse gas emissions from their oil and gas operations by 40% by 2030 compared to 2015 levels. The collaboration between the two companies marks a pivotal move towards a more sustainable energy landscape. Air Products' commitment of over $15bn to large-scale energy transition projects highlights its dedication to driving the use of low carbon hydrogen globally. The partnership also includes plans for the supply of renewable power, with an initial focus on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 150 MW generated from a solar project in Texas, indicating a broader shift towards cleaner energy sources.
