Anglo American has introduced the H2 Moves Europe program to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) technology in clean transport. In collaboration with Hype, the leading FCEV taxi operator, Anglo American is deploying two new fleets of zero-emission FCEVs in Paris and Brussels, totaling 300 vehicles. The initiative builds upon the success of the H2 Moves Berlin pilot project and aims to highlight the advantages of FCEVs in car fleets like taxis and buses, offering relief to battery mineral supply chains. Platinum produced by Anglo American plays a crucial role in FCEV fuel cells, catalyzing the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to power the vehicles with clean electricity. The FCEVs can be refueled in five minutes and offer ranges of up to 650km with zero exhaust emissions. This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting hydrogen-powered transport globally and supporting sustainability efforts in the automotive industry.
