The Egypt Green Hydrogen project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone has made significant progress by securing a 397-million-euro contract to export green fuel to Europe. This project, set to supply green ammonia to Europe from 2027 to 2033 at a rate of 1,000 euros per ton, aims to contribute to the region's green energy goals. The initial supply of 19,500 tons in 2027 is expected to rise to 397,000 tons by 2033, showcasing the project's scalability. Launched by Fertiglobe, a multinational ammonia exporter, in collaboration with Scatec ASA, Orascom Construction, and the Egyptian Sovereign Fund, the initiative was announced at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, emphasizing its environmental significance. The contract's division among the project's founders highlights a collective effort towards sustainable energy practices and aligns with global efforts to combat climate change.
