Nucleareurope, a European nuclear trade organization, released a position paper underscoring the importance of EU-based hydrogen production for energy sovereignty and industrial competitiveness. The paper suggests that hydrogen can address challenges in energy security, sustainability, and competitiveness within the EU. While the focus of the European Commission leans towards renewable hydrogen, Nucleareurope argues that nuclear energy could complement this approach and reduce reliance on imports, ultimately aiding in achieving net-zero targets by 2050.
