INEOS Inovyn, a vinyl producer, has initiated customer trials with what they claim to be 'Europe’s first heavy-duty liquid hydrogen truck.' Wouter Bleukx, Business Director Hydrogen at INEOS Inovyn, expressed enthusiasm about hydrogen being a game-changing energy solution that will revolutionize truck transportation towards achieving a zero-emission future. This collaboration with Daimler Truck to run trials with Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Trucks aims to showcase the potential of hydrogen in heavy-duty transportation. The trial fleet, involving companies like Amazon, Air Products, Holcim, and Wiedmann & Winz, will operate in Germany for the next 12 months, with plans to expand into Belgium and the Netherlands. INEOS is keen on understanding fuel-cell technology through approximately 250 customer deliveries in the Rheinberg area. The company's commitment to Net Zero includes efforts to reduce its CO2 footprint, with a focus on hydrogen production and storage. INEOS highlights the importance of governmental support for infrastructure investment to bring low carbon hydrogen solutions to the market.
