First Hydrogen Corp. has announced the successful trials of their green hydrogen-powered fuel cell light commercial vehicle (FCEV) in the UK, leading to the decision to configure a left-hand drive model to expand their global market reach. This expansion will allow the company to showcase the FCEV in the United States, Mexico, South America, and particularly Europe, where the European Union is actively diversifying its energy sources and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The EU is investing €43 billion to support hydrogen Integrated Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEIs) and aims to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. The United States, spearheaded by California, is also investing in hydrogen hubs with the support of the Biden Administration, with California receiving substantial funding to advance clean hydrogen projects. First Hydrogen's FCEV has demonstrated impressive capabilities during trials, with no decrease in performance or range in colder temperatures. The company's Group CEO, Balraj Mann, highlighted the advantages of hydrogen-powered vehicles in terms of sustainability, zero emissions, and contribution to decarbonization goals. First Hydrogen is focused on zero-emission vehicles, green hydrogen production, and distribution, with plans for a green hydrogen production facility and vehicle assembly factory in Shawinigan, Quebec.
