Hyundai Motor's XCIENT Fuel Cell electric heavy-duty trucks have reached a significant milestone by surpassing a cumulative driving distance of 10 million km in Swiss fleet usage. This achievement, achieved in just under four years, highlights the dependability of the hydrogen fuel cell technology in the XCIENT trucks. The operation of 48 XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in Switzerland has shown a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, equivalent to the creation of a pine forest covering 5 million square meters. These trucks run on 'green hydrogen', further promoting an eco-friendly hydrogen value chain in Europe. The success of the XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks also underscores the advancement in hydrogen fuel cell system technology. Hyundai Motor plans to leverage the data gathered during this milestone to enhance its hydrogen fuel cell technology for various vehicle applications. Additionally, Hyundai is actively involved in establishing a commercial hydrogen ecosystem, supporting the entire value chain from production to consumption of hydrogen. Hyundai Motor's commitment to hydrogen extends beyond Switzerland, with the deployment of XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in 10 countries, including the U.S., Germany, France, and New Zealand. The expansion of the HTWO brand to encompass the entire hydrogen value chain business signifies a strategic move towards expediting the transition to a hydrogen society.
