India has launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission to position itself as a prominent player in the global green hydrogen market. Pankaj Agarwal, the Secretary of the Ministry of Power in the Government of India, stressed the significance of establishing green hydrogen supply chains and infrastructure to realize India's ambition of leading in hydrogen production and export worldwide. The conference also featured discussions on the European Union's perspective on hydrogen, with Jorgo Chatzimarkakis from Hydrogen Europe recognizing India as a crucial partner in the EU's green hydrogen roadmap. Carbon pricing mechanisms and the importance of prioritizing green hydrogen for long-term cost-effectiveness were key points of discussion. The conference brought together experts, government officials, and youth to explore the establishment of a green hydrogen ecosystem with the ambitious target of producing 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030.
