Lhyfe Successfully Delivers Renewable Green Hydrogen to Storengy for HyPSTER Project
Key Ideas
  • Lhyfe delivered 2.6 tonnes of renewable green hydrogen to Storengy at the Etrez-Bresse Vallons site in France for the HyPSTER project supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
  • The HyPSTER project aims to test hydrogen storage in salt caverns to support the development of the hydrogen industry in Europe, focusing on hard-to-decarbonise sectors like industry and heavy mobility.
  • Lhyfe's supply chain team overcame logistical challenges by designing a bespoke system to match cavern pressure, reduce the number of trucks needed, and deliver the required volume in a short time.
  • The success of this initiative showcases the maturity and excellence of Lhyfe's supply chain in handling renewable green hydrogen logistics, contributing to the growth of the renewable energy sector.
Lhyfe, a leading producer of green and renewable hydrogen in France, completed the delivery of 2.6 tonnes of renewable green hydrogen to Storengy at the Etrez-Bresse Vallons site in the Ain region. This delivery was part of the HyPSTER project supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, which aims to test hydrogen storage in salt caverns for future large-scale deployment in Europe's hydrogen industry. Green and renewable hydrogen is essential for decarbonising hard-to-reach sectors like industry and heavy mobility. The logistical challenges faced by the renewable hydrogen sector, including access to the molecule, transport infrastructure deployment, and regulatory implementation, were overcome by Lhyfe's supply chain team for the HyPSTER project. To achieve this, Lhyfe designed a bespoke system capable of matching cavern pressure, reducing truck requirements, and delivering the required volume promptly. Between 19 November and 11 December, Lhyfe mobilised its carriers to deliver the renewable green hydrogen using a combination of 40-foot and 30-foot containers. This successful delivery highlights the company's expertise in managing renewable green hydrogen flow and supporting innovative industrial projects. Matthieu Guesné, Founder and CEO of Lhyfe, expressed pride in the team's achievement and emphasized the sector's continuous maturation. Overall, this delivery contributes to the advancement of the renewable energy sector, showcasing the potential for green hydrogen to play a significant role in Europe's energy transition.
