During His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's state visit to the Netherlands, Oman signed a historic Joint Development Agreement to create the world's first commercial-scale liquid hydrogen corridor connecting Oman to Europe. This agreement is a significant milestone in the global energy transition journey and positions Oman as a key player in green hydrogen production and export. The corridor will enable the export of green hydrogen from Oman's Port of Duqm to the Netherlands and Germany, utilizing state-of-the-art infrastructure and transportation means. The establishment of the world's largest hydrogen liquefaction, storage, and export terminal in the Port of Duqm is central to the project, overseen by Hydrom and OQ. Revolutionary maritime vessels by ECOLOG will ensure efficient shipment of liquid hydrogen with minimal losses. On the European side, the corridor will be supported by re-gasification import terminals in the Port of Amsterdam, enhancing distribution to industrial offtakers in the region. The signing of the agreement by various entities from Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany reflects a shared commitment to clean energy and sustainable practices. The project aligns with Oman's national objectives and global hydrogen demand, emphasizing economic value and environmental responsibility.
