A groundbreaking Joint Development Agreement (JDA) has been signed to create the world's first liquid hydrogen import corridor linking Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany. This corridor will facilitate the commercial-scale import of renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO) compliant liquid hydrogen to Europe. The agreement involves 11 parties, including Hydrom, OQ, Tata Steel Nederland, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, and Hynetwork, focusing on various aspects of the supply chain. Proven technologies for liquefaction, transport, storage, and distribution of liquid hydrogen will be utilized, with a special emphasis on efficiency and sustainability. The agreement includes the development of a liquefaction facility in Duqm, pricing discussions, and infrastructure development in the ports of Duqm, Amsterdam, and Duisburg. This initiative not only positions Oman as a key player in the green hydrogen export market but also contributes to Europe's energy security and clean energy objectives.
