Pioneering Partnership for International Clean Hydrogen Supply Chains in Europe
Key Ideas
  • SEFE and Höegh Evi signed a MoU to develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen focusing on ammonia-based solutions.
  • The collaboration aims to deliver clean hydrogen to Germany and other European locations through floating import terminals.
  • SEFE will manage the upstream supply portfolio and downstream supply chain, while Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure connecting Germany with international hydrogen markets.
  • Both companies aim to contribute to decarbonisation by establishing global supply chains for clean hydrogen and developing infrastructure for energy transition.
Securing Energy For Europe (SEFE) and marine infrastructure provider Höegh Evi have partnered to develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen. The collaboration will focus on ammonia-based solutions, aiming to deliver clean hydrogen to Germany and other European locations through floating import terminals. SEFE will oversee the upstream supply portfolio and downstream supply chain, including global sourcing and hydrogen demand aggregation in Germany and Europe. On the other hand, Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure, connecting Germany with international hydrogen markets by transporting ammonia via ship and utilizing floating import terminal infrastructure. The cooperation also involves exploring potential sites for floating ammonia-to-hydrogen terminals in Germany and other European locations. SEFE and Höegh Evi are committed to advancing the energy transition by establishing global supply chains for clean hydrogen and developing infrastructure for decarbonisation.
