Polish company MMI has secured €7.7M in funding from the Vinci S.A. fund to develop electric buses, including a hydrogen fuel cell-powered minibus. The company plans to enhance its market position in Poland and Western Europe by focusing on innovative technologies such as zero-emission drive technology, chassis and body construction, and their own design to create buses with the lowest possible curb weight for maximum range. The company aims to produce small and medium-sized electric buses in three variants and double its production volume by constructing a modern production hall. This strategic move aligns with the EU's regulations on zero-emission urban transport, aiming to combat environmental pollution and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The new vehicles will target urban, intercity, and school transport, positioning MMI as a key player in the European market. The CEO of MMI highlighted the importance of developing a new body structure using composite technology and a drivetrain system with synchronous motors for improved efficiency and reliability. This innovative approach, along with the focus on hydrogen-powered vehicles, sets MMI apart in the industry, allowing them to compete internationally.
