SEFE and Höegh Evi Collaborate on Clean Hydrogen Supply Chain to Germany
Key Ideas
  • SEFE and Höegh Evi sign a MoU to jointly develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen to be delivered to Germany and other European locations.
  • The collaboration aims to analyze technical and commercial feasibility of corridors for clean hydrogen supply based on ammonia, including sourcing, transportation, and delivery to floating import terminals.
  • SEFE will manage the supply portfolio and downstream chain, while Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure connecting Germany with international hydrogen markets.
  • The partnership will identify locations for floating ammonia-to-hydrogen terminals and provide dispatchable clean hydrogen for industrial customers through innovative technologies.
SEFE and marine infrastructure provider Höegh Evi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen to be delivered to Germany and other European locations. The agreement includes analyzing the feasibility of various corridors for clean hydrogen supply based on ammonia. The partnership aims to implement international supply chains involving sourcing of ammonia, transportation by ship, and delivery to floating import terminals. SEFE will oversee the upstream supply portfolio and downstream chain, including global sourcing of clean molecules and investment in the German hydrogen core grid. Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure for connecting Germany with international hydrogen markets, including transportation of ammonia by ship and floating import terminal infrastructure. The collaboration will identify locations for floating ammonia-to-hydrogen terminals along Germany’s Baltic Sea and North Sea coasts and in other potential European locations. This partnership signifies a positive step towards delivering clean hydrogen to industrial customers, utilizing innovative ammonia-to-hydrogen technologies.
