STEF Group has launched two groundbreaking hydrogen projects in collaboration with Toyota Material Handling Europe and Plug Power. The initiative aims to integrate green hydrogen into forklift operations at the company's sites in Athis-Mons, France, and Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain. In France, green hydrogen produced using renewable energy sources is being utilized to power forklifts at a transport platform near Paris. Toyota will supply STEF with fuel cell-ready forklift models customized to meet the specific requirements of the sites, prioritizing operator safety and comfort. In Europe, Toyota currently services over 6,000 STEF forklifts, highlighting the scale and impact of this partnership. Meanwhile, Plug Power, renowned for its comprehensive hydrogen solutions, is deploying its GenKey ecosystem for STEF in both French and Spanish cold storage facilities. This ecosystem includes hydrogen fuel cells, infrastructure, and ongoing service, showcasing a commitment to green energy adoption across industries. By joining Plug's network of clients, STEF solidifies its position in the green energy transition, emphasizing sustainability and innovation. The projects in Athis-Mons and Torrejon de Ardoz demonstrate a concerted effort to establish a hydrogen-powered material handling ecosystem, setting a positive trajectory for the future of sustainable logistics in Europe.
