- Developers will receive incentives for clean energy projects, battery manufacturing, EV charging infrastructure, and green hydrogen generation.
- The policy offers land allotment on long-term leases, transmission connectivity options, and exemptions from various charges to promote renewable energy projects.
- Incentives include subsidies, exemptions, and reimbursements for solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects, as well as manufacturing facilities.
The Assam government has unveiled its Assam Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy 2025 aiming to add 11,700 MW of renewable energy capacity by the end of FY 2030. The policy covers incentives for clean energy projects, renewable energy manufacturing, battery manufacturing, and EV charging infrastructure. Land will be allocated to developers on long-term leases, and transmission connectivity options are provided under the policy.
The targets include 2,000 MWh of battery manufacturing, 2,000 EV charging infrastructure, and 2,000 KTPA of green hydrogen generation by 2030. Developers can receive 100% compensation for land reclassification and stamp duty costs. Additionally, the policy offers exemptions from intrastate transmission charges, distribution charges, and wheeling charges.
Moreover, various incentives are provided for rooftop solar projects, decentralized solar projects, captive solar projects, wind projects, wind turbine manufacturing, wind-solar hybrid projects, and electrolyzer manufacturing facilities. The incentives range from subsidies to exemptions and reimbursements, with a focus on promoting renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives. Overall, the policy aims to boost the renewable energy sector in Assam and accelerate the state's transition towards cleaner and sustainable energy sources.
