The partnership will focus on producing and selling green hydrogen, its derivatives, and green ammonia, while exploring emissions reduction technologies for port operations. Sembcorp, through its subsidiary Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited, and BPCL will collaborate to explore renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in India. This joint venture builds on the companies' previous plans to enter the green hydrogen market. The collaboration aims to capitalize on Sembcorp's experience in renewables and BPCL's expertise in the petroleum sector to drive decarbonization efforts in hard-to-abate sectors. The focus will also extend to green ammonia production, bunkering, and other emerging green fuel technologies. By leveraging Sembcorp's 6 GW of renewable assets in India, the partnership is poised to facilitate large-scale, cost-effective green hydrogen production.
