Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India have teamed up in a joint venture to explore renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in India. The partnership targets areas like green ammonia production, bunkering, port emissions reduction, and emerging green fuel technologies to support India's energy transition and climate objectives. BPCL plans to develop a 10GW renewable energy portfolio and achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, while Sembcorp will leverage its 6GW renewable assets in India for low-cost green hydrogen production. In Scotland, H&MV Engineering has completed the Blackhillock battery energy storage system, with a capacity of 200MW and 400MWh, enhancing grid stability by storing and providing energy as required. Meanwhile, PNE Group has secured approval for wind farms in Hesse and a solar power plant in Brandenburg, Germany, totaling around 185MW, expected to power 73,000 homes. This initiative aligns with PNE's strategy to expand its renewable energy projects and achieve 1.1GW of energy capacity by 2027. Optimus Energy has introduced a Virtual Power Plant in Greece, utilizing technology from emsys VPP to manage 4GW of solar and wind power across 3,500 sites. The VPP enhances real-time energy management, optimizes renewable energy trading, and grid balancing, incorporating accurate forecasts for energy planning. These developments signify significant progress in the adoption of green energy solutions for a sustainable future.
