The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) organized a one-day National Workshop in New Delhi focused on exploring opportunities for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Green Hydrogen Supply Chain. The workshop aimed to emphasize the key role of MSMEs in developing India's green hydrogen ecosystem by fostering innovation-led growth. The Hon'ble Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy highlighted the government's commitment to supporting MSMEs in the energy transition and launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India to ensure transparency and credibility in green hydrogen production. The workshop featured discussions on technology collaboration, business opportunities, decentralized hydrogen production through biomass, and catalyzing investments in the green hydrogen ecosystem. Participants highlighted the importance of standardized protocols, joint innovation platforms, and Green Hydrogen Clusters to enable MSMEs to enter the sector effectively. The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to make India a global hub for green hydrogen production, usage, and export by 2030, targeting outcomes like significant capacity additions, job creation, investment inflows, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. The workshop marked a crucial step in mainstreaming MSMEs in India's clean energy transition and highlighted the country's potential to become a manufacturing hub for green hydrogen technologies.
