The CSIR labs in India have kicked off the One Week One Theme (OWOT) campaign with a focus on Energy and Energy Devices. The campaign was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for S&T, Dr. Jitendra Singh, and is being organized across 37 CSIR labs. Various events were held at different CSIR institutes, such as the Two-Day Workshop on Challenges and Opportunities in Gasification at CSIR-CIMFR, an Interaction Meet on Geothermal Energy at CSIR-NGRI, and showcases on hydrogen, batteries, and solar energy at CSIR-CSMCRI. Additionally, CSIR labs like CSIR-CECRI, CSIR-CMERI, and CSIR-CGCRI also organized displays and showcases focusing on hydrogen technology, hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, and advancements in hydrogen-SOFC-SOEC systems. The events brought together experts, industry leaders, and researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the energy sector, promoting collaborations and knowledge exchange. The symposium on Catalysis and Renewable Energy at CSIR-NCL underscored the importance of alternative fuels and sustainable energy technologies in meeting global energy challenges. The positive sentiment towards hydrogen and other energy innovations was evident in the discussions and presentations, emphasizing the potential for sustainable energy solutions. The next theme of the OWOT campaign will focus on 'Chemicals and Petrochemicals', furthering the exploration of innovations and advancements in the energy sector.
