Union Minister Pralhad Joshi recently visited the Greenko integrated renewable energy storage project at Pinnapuram, Andhra Pradesh, praising its scale and rapid progress. The project integrates 4,000 MW of solar, 1,000 MW of wind, and 1,680 MW of pumped hydro storage, delivering 10,080 MWh of dispatchable, carbon-free energy daily. Shri Joshi commended the project as a testament to India's renewable energy potential. Anil Chalamalasetty, Group CEO of Greenko, showcased the project's impact on hard-to-abate industries and emphasized its role in decarbonizing the region. The project is expected to avoid 3.3 million tons of CO₂ emissions annually and enhance energy reliability. Greenko's vision extends to creating a national cloud storage platform exceeding 100 GWh capacity, in line with India's energy policies. The project's total investment of $4.2 billion positions India as a leader in sustainable energy solutions, addressing renewable intermittency challenges and driving economic growth.
